A missing tooth is something that most people will want to replace. As well as for aesthetic reasons, filling the gap will restore balance to your mouth and prevent your other teeth moving to compensate for the empty space. Whilst dentures and bridges are common choices, dental implants (whilst admittedly more expensive) do offer a more complete solution.
Cost effective solution
Some patients may be unconvinced by the prospect of dental implants and will perhaps feel more inclined to solutions such as dentures and bridges. There are, however, distinct advantages to living with dental implants that, over time, will undoubtedly be worth the extra cost of choosing them as a treatment, and usually mean that implants are more cost effective in the long run
Eat your favourite foods again
A major drawback of dentures and bridges is that they lack support from underneath (and of course above) and can move, causing discomfort to the patient. Some foods can cause dentures to move and even be dislodged completely. With dental implants, this will not happen and you will be able to eat whatever foods you want and not think about which side of your mouth you are chewing on.
Another advantage of dental implants is that no restructuring of your existing teeth is required to accommodate them, and there will be no damage to adjacent teeth (such as can be the case with a dental bridge).
